THMA offers education and reflection about human behaviour. Our pages and resources do not provide diagnosis, clinical treatment, or personalised mental health advice. Where an experience needs professional support, learning can sit alongside that support.
THMA makes room for both evidence and personal meaning. Scientific explanations are presented as explanations we can examine; spiritual language is an optional way to reflect on experience. Neither a spiritual belief nor a rejection of spirituality is required to belong here. Shadow work refers here to reflective exploration, not a clinical method or a promise of healing.

in the room.
Some questions become clearer when we explore them together. Discover human behaviour through conversation, guided observation, and practice, with room for your questions and the perspectives of others.
Another perspective can open something in your own.
You describe a situation, and someone notices a detail you had passed over. You hear a question that puts a familiar experience into different words. You practise a response and discover that understanding a boundary and expressing it are two different things.
Learning together can make these moments visible. An idea becomes something you can examine, question, and try.
The live courses bring the Academy’s subjects into shared exploration. We look closely at human situations, consider what may be happening, and practise ways to respond with greater awareness. Other people’s experiences can widen the picture, while your own remains yours to understand.
You can bring curiosity without having a personal story to share. You can ask a difficult question without already knowing how to phrase it perfectly. There is room to listen, reflect, and participate without turning your life into a public explanation.
The aim is to leave with something you can carry into everyday life: a clearer distinction, a more useful question, or a response you have begun to practise.
